Executive Paula Underhill Joins as Managing Director, UK

We're delighted to announce that Paula Underhill has just joined Assured Clinical Research as Managing Director, UK.

For those who know the UK clinical research market, this is a significant appointment. Paula is arguably the most experienced leader in UK research operations and strategy today. She brings more than 25 years of clinical research experience, combining deep knowledge of the UK research environment with extensive global leadership across health technology, real-world data, and strategic site and investigator partnerships with CROs.  This breadth gives her a distinctive global perspective across the clinical research landscape, from patient pathways and site-level delivery to the strategic, operational, and partnership priorities of sponsors, CROs, research networks, and health systems.

Throughout her career, Paula has connected key areas of the sector.   She has built and supported strong research sites and investigator networks, developed innovative strategic partnerships, expanded patient access, and translated strategy into effective research delivery. What's remarkable about Paula's experience is how integrated it is. She understands how to work within NHS systems AND what sponsors need. That combination is rare.

Her experience and approach align closely with what we are building at Assured Clinical Research, in developing the next-generation transatlantic research network that combines scale with high-quality local collaboration and delivery.   Our model preserves the expertise, independence, and strengths of research sites while creating greater consistency, connectivity, and value for patients, sites, sponsors, and CROs.  A key component is not only enhancing established research sites, but also identifying, enabling, and nurturing emerging sites and investigators so clinical research reaches a broader and more diverse patient population.
